Lawrence Alvin Boekhoff enlisted 12 May 1944 with the U. S. Army. He was killed in action and lost at sea when his American troop transport ship was torpedoed while crossing the English channel on Christmas night 1944. His body were never recovered. He had been assigned to the 262nd Infantry 66th Division of the U.S. Army.
