Old Doctor Office Building in Block 10

This building was located where the Wellsburg Tap is now. The wooden structure was built in 1897 by Dr. W. T. Chinn, the town\’s doctor and first mayor. It was used as a doctor\’s office by several of the town doctors until 1912 when S. J. Snittjer bought the property and remodeled it into a meat market. This building was razed in 1917 to make way for the new tile/brick building.  Photo c. 1916

CORRECTION: The building was not razed, it was moved. According to a newspaper account, it was moved to the southwest part of town.
