Last Train Through Wellsburg

Trains on the Rock Island branch line between Vinton and Iowa Falls came to an end.  The day passed with no fanfare unlike the celebration over a century ago when the iron horse made its debut on the line and thousands turned out in the county seat to celebrate the arrival of the first train.
